Privacy policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Prosoka app and the prosoka.app website process, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: Prosoka measures your focus without a camera and without reading your screen. The names of the apps you use stay on your phone. Your session history is private.
Who is responsible
The controller of your data is Artem Shapovalov, Rotterdam, the Netherlands ("we"). Contact for anything about your data: hello@prosoka.app.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, and the account ID from Google or Apple if you sign in with them. We do not get your contacts or password.
- What you add to your profile: nickname, profile photo (optional), niche, country (optional) and whether rivals see your country flag.
- Your answers to the five onboarding questions, used once to set your starting rating, and your phone's time zone, used to count your day streak.
Your sessions and duels
- The task you write and when it counts as done, the length you chose and how your focus was tracked.
- A timeline of focus states (focus, neutral, grey zone, distracted, pause) with their duration, your points, number and length of distractions, and whether you marked the task done.
- Duel results, your rating, reliability (no-shows and leaving early), experience level, achievements and profile items.
- Proof of your task if you add one at the end of a duel: a photo, a link or a short text.
- Duel chat messages, reports and blocks. Reactions during a duel are sent live and not stored.
If you choose not to save a solo session, it stays on your phone and is not sent to us.
How focus is measured on your phone
- Android: with your permission (Usage Access), Prosoka reads which app is in the foreground and when the screen turns on or off, during a session only. Your phone sorts each app into a category (work, neutral, distracting). The names of your apps never leave your phone: we receive only the category and how long it lasted.
- iPhone: Prosoka sees only when you leave the app and when the phone is locked.
- We never read what is on your screen, and never use the camera or microphone to track you.
If you link a computer
The Prosoka app for Mac and Windows is optional. You link it with a code that you confirm on your phone; we store the computer's name (for example "MacBook Air"), its system and when it was last active. During a session only, it checks which app is in front, the site open in your browser (on a Mac, only if you allow it) and whether you are using the keyboard or mouse. App names, sites and what you type never leave the computer: we receive only whether you were working, distracted, in a grey zone or idle, and when. We never read the screen or record keystrokes.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your phone so we can tell you when a rival is found while the app is in the background. The streak reminder is scheduled on your phone and does not involve our servers.
Diagnostics
- Crash reports (Sentry): what went wrong, app version, phone model and operating system, linked to your account ID only.
- Usage statistics (PostHog, EU), only if you allow them in the app: which screens are opened. Not linked to your account or email. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.
- The dates you open the app (the date only, no time or activity) and how long each rival search took. We use these to measure whether the beta works: how many players come back and how fast they find a rival.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app: your message, its type (bug, idea, other) and, if you leave the option on, the app version, operating system and phone model. It is linked to your account so we can follow up.
The website and the waitlist
- If you join the waitlist: your email, the phone you use (Android or iPhone) and your consent. We email you once, when your beta invite is ready.
- To stop spam, a keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself) is stored for 24 hours.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. The website sets no tracking cookies and has no ads.

What other players see
- Your nickname, profile photo and items, level, rating, reliability (how often you finish duels), niche, tracking level, whether a computer is linked during a duel and, only if you turn it on, your country flag. Your country, time zone and onboarding answers are otherwise visible only to you.
- During a duel: your focus bar, state and points, live. After it: the result.
- On the weekly beta leaderboard: your nickname, photo, focus time this week and how many sessions and duels you had. You can hide yourself in Settings, Privacy.
- Your chat messages to them. Your history, tasks and proofs stay private.
- Ghost duels: the focus timeline of a duel you finished may be replayed to another player as a "ghost" opponent. It shows only a rating, never your nickname, task or proof.

Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, take it with you in a machine-readable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this you can do in the app: edit your profile in Settings, choose not to save sessions, turn off notifications and chat, or delete your account. For anything else, emailhello@prosoka.app; we answer within one month.
You can also complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work.
Age
Prosoka is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger person has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every table is protected by access rules so that each player can read only their own private data. Proof photos are stored in a private bucket.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
